Today, Memorial Day, we as a nation are supposed to be honoring our fallen heroes. The networks carried the traditional laying of the wreath at Arlington National Cemetery, and political leaders such as Governor Cuomo talk about the importance of our "heroes" in the fight against COVID-19. But as a nation we haven't had a single moment of silence to honor the now 100,000 fellow Americans who have died from this hideous virus; we haven't taken a single moment to reflect as a nation on this enormous and continuing challenge. Today I came upon the article below: I encourage you to read it thoughtfully and consider what it says about us as a society, as a nation. E Pluribus Unum? Not on this day I fear.
