It's very unfortunate that you couldn't have a son, how'll you run the family with only daughters, you're ruined.

It's very unfortunate that you couldn't have a son, how'll you run the family with only daughters, you're ruined.

I was born and brought up in a small village near East Midnapur, where pain and financial struggle were constant companions. Our family consisted of my father, the sole bread earner, my mother, my younger sister, and me.

As we grew up, our relatives would taunt my father, reminding him of the misfortune of not having a son to carry on the family name and questioning how he would support us with just daughters.

My mother had dreams of becoming a singer, but circumstances forced her to marry at a young age and take up the responsibilities of a wife and later a mother. However, she was determined to provide us with a good education and opportunities. She managed to get us admitted to reputable government schools and saved every penny to support our education.

In my early years, I would practice singing lessons with my mother, but as academic pressures grew, I found it increasingly difficult to devote time to my passion. Nevertheless, deep inside, the desire to become a singer burned brightly, a longing to fulfill my mother's unfulfilled dream.

During my college years, I joined both cultural and singing clubs, dedicating myself to maintaining a strict schedule to pursue my passion. Encouragement poured in from supportive seniors who suggested I consider singing as a career option. It became evident to me that simply posting songs on social media or YouTube wouldn't be enough to make my dream come true—I aspired to release my own album.

After completing my final semester, I gathered the courage to share my aspirations with my mother. Despite our financial constraints, she selflessly handed me her hard-earned savings from her fixed deposit to cover my expenses for the move to Mumbai and chase my dreams.

In 2022, I took a leap of faith and relocated to Mumbai, finding a temporary abode at a friend's paying guest accommodation. Determined to make my mark in the music industry, I spent the next six months tirelessly approaching production houses and composers for potential collaborations, but my efforts seemed fruitless. By the end of August, despair began to creep in, overshadowing my hopes.

Then, on September 10th, everything changed. A call from the renowned Music Label Company, the Local Brand, invited me to their studio for an audition. Following two intense stages, they asked me to wait until the end of the day for their final decision.

Later that evening, an email arrived from the very same company, offering me the opportunity to sing and act in their upcoming album cover song. My heart skipped a beat with joy! Without hesitation, I accepted the offer, and by mid-September, the recording and shooting began with a team of dedicated professionals.

In the first week of October, my debut music cover, "Jo Tum Mile," was released.

The response was overwhelming. Love and praise poured in from countless viewers, and when I showed the music video to my mother, tears streamed down her face. Even our once-critical relatives couldn't help but shower us with admiration for my achievement and the pride it brought to my parents.

Presently, I am working on a new music project in Delhi alongside my talented team and the Local Brand. Today, our financial situation has vastly improved. Through the grace of God and the unwavering support of my mother, I have made my parents proud and fulfilled my mother's unfulfilled dream.

Kamila's Xtraordinary message:

Dream big and fight harder. Embrace your passions and persevere through adversity, for within lies the potential to transform your life and make your dreams a reality.
