7 年The idea of the igom is more than welcome and about time. I see a small and main problem, is how we can assure that the igom will be adopted by the airlines? I have the bad experience with the isago. airlines are inspectioning the handlers with the same intensity than before the isago, without exemptions. If the igom will not have a basic preparation in advance with the airlines to be adopted it will be an other book with his cost in the library.

7 年As the father of the IGOM concept it is nice to see that the issue of chocking and coning of aircraft has been brought up again. In fact, this issue of multiple standards for these processes was the reason that inspired me to propose the creation of the IGOM in an ISAGO Steering Group meeting in Montreal many years ago. ??????

7 年Allow me here to make one necessary addition : we all agree on the significance of regulation uniformity. It reduces headaches. My initial comment was related to what the Ground Handler can do to reduce the ops cost , and it's within the line of control. I ve been asked to restructure numerous organizations and the financial viability of them was solely depending on the ops cost and their ability to adopt accordingly.
