It's time for us all to take action

This month Heads of State met at the United Nations Headquarters in New York and agreed on new global Sustainable Development Goals. The goals set the agenda for global action for the next 15 years. Like the UN, we at IHG, are committed to achieving sustainable economic, social and environmental development in a balanced and integrated manner.

To bring this to life, we put responsible business practices right at the heart of our strategy, from our supply chain to employee welfare. Our hotels are at the very heart of the communities in which we operate and we have a responsibility to make a positive change to those communities.

Through our core Corporate Responsibility programmes we are working hard to bring about this positive change. IHG Green Engage? system helps our hotels to measure and manage their impact on the environment – and it’s a brand standard for all our hotels. Through IHG Shelter in a Storm, we help to drive community resilience, particularly in disaster prone areas. And, in our IHG Academy programme we’re providing education and development opportunities to a wide cross section of individuals.

This is not just good for business, but good for us all.
