IT'S TIME TO TAKE (more) CONTROL (and SHIFT too) of your AutoCAD
Only you can control your future.
As AutoCAD is a robust environment, I never stop discovering new things. The Combinations of Control + Mouse Click and/or Shift + Mouse Click, have been revealing lots of functions that cannot be achieved otherwise.
So, are you ready to take CONTROL of your AutoCAD?
I've conducting live-online tutorials more than 6-7 times and every time I added some new stuff of this kind. In one of the more unexpected places, the Tool Palette framework, i found out that the use of SHIFT would let me select a bunch of Blocks and change their SOURCE FILE (altogether) when needed. These are great news since changing the source file at each Block's Properties sure is a tedious task.
Of course, there are simpler combinations like CONTROL or SHIFT + Rightclick that will pop the POP0 menu Up. Great when the "FROM" option is needed...
When objects are copied using GRIPS and Control is pressed, if keeping it pressed, the copies will follow the distance of the 1st copy (acting like a selective ARRAY).
If a Dynamic Block is created, and one or more POINT PARAMETERS are added, CONTROL will offer a sequence of INSERTION POINTS (each CONTROL will offer the next INSERTION POINT).
Then you'll find a list of CONTROL + # Toggles:
- Control + 1 - Properties
- Control + 2 - DesignCenter
- Control + 3 - Tool Palettes
- Control + 4 - Sheet Set Manager
- Control + 6 - DBConnect Manager
- Control + 7 - Markup Set Manager
- Control + 8 - QUICKCALC Calculator
- Control + 9 - Command Line

8 年Great tips Danny. Some I knew and some I need to try out further. I've added custom Osnap combinations to the Pop0 menu for years: [->Multiple] [End - End]_endp;\_endp; [End - Int]_endp;\_int; [End - Mid]_endp;\_mid; [End - Perp]_endp;\_perp; [Int - Int]_int;\_int; [Int - End]_int;\_end; [Cen - End]_center;\_end; [Cen - Cen]_center;\_center; [Mid - Int]_mid;\_int; [Mid - Perp]_mid;\_perp; [Near - End]_near;\_endp; [Near - Int]_near;\_int; [Near - Perp]_near;\_perp; [Midway]'cal;(cur+cur)/2; [Int+Int / 2]'cal;(int+int)/2; [End+End / 2]'cal;(end+end)/2;

8 年In the CUI almost all of the keys can be changed in the Keyboard Shortcuts to what you use the most. I programmed my Function keys to different Snap shortcut keys. Some can't do without the original Function keys but I decided I could be more productive with the following changes: F5 Snap, Endpoint F6 Snap, Midpoint F7 Snap, Center F9 Snap, Perpendicular F10 Snap, Mid Between 2 Points F11 Snap, Quadrant F12 Snap, Nearest

9 年I've always utilized the control functions, not that I'm a control freak...and the copy with grips a new for me and I'll be using that. Thanks for the tips.
