It's time to STOP. Look Back!

So, this is neither markets, economy, taxonomy, edu gyan, feel good stuff. NOTHING.

When was the last time you did not do anything? Just floated?

Think.

Many years ago, a 25-year old me was planning a wedding, a trip, changing jobs, shifting cities and planning for the next 5 years - the exciting stuff. The 35-year old me leading a smart team, planning to scale up business for a corporate, raising income, seeing the world. The 45-year old me was set-up to achieve pinnacle, setting up an own business, scaling it up and maturing into a serial entrepreneur. Now looking back, while it's been dream run, the pinnacle at 30,000ft and much more to go, I realized it's important to STOP. Celebrate! Enjoy the memories, connect, pull-comrades up, transfer the knowledge and much more; but it's important to STOP. At each interval. Just take time out for YOURSELF. Regroup and revitalize.

At a recent 15-day event of the The Institute of Company Secretaries of India where I attended as a participant; young 20-year olds, bubbling with plans of taking to corporate, starting their own practice or thinking about the 5 year plans to scale things up, I wondered how most of them will do exactly how I went on to succeed, 5-years at a time. While it's great that most of us will or are achieving success they sought; it's important to savor the moment. For our own sake.

Get your "mee time". It's NOT about celebrating, partying, letting the hair down, doing that trip, calling in people. It should be more about connecting inwards, looking at how good you are, how well you have done so far. Thanking your stars for being at the right time, at the right place.

It's good to pick this up while you are still 25 or 35 or still 40. Cause if you are reading this, it's evident that you have done pretty well so far and are out to achieve which most people on this planet can only aspire or dream of.

SO. STOP, Stare and yes, congratulations on getting to this point with yourself. Look back and thank your stars.

#privilege #lookback #congratulations
