It's Time for Sales Teams to Wake Up!

I had 'a lot' of reaction when I said this on social media recently, but I totally stand by what I said.

It's time for Sales Teams & Companies to WAKE UP and take ACTION!

Let's get brutally honest.

What have you and your sales teams be doing for the 58 days we've been in lockdown?

  • Are you honestly sat there perfecting your skills? NO!
  • Learning New Sales/Persuasion Strategies? NO!
  • Even just going over your Prospect Lists? NO!

However, (And this winds me up!) I've seen a massive amount of pictures of salespeople in hot tubs, drinking expensive champagne in the garden and a seemingly having a never-ending amount of steak BBQs.

Good on ya, but there comes a time when you have to wake up and face the BRUTAL TRUTH... 

When YOU and the team do get back to work, you are going to be rusty, embarrassingly out of practice and let's face it... Utter Sh1te!

The Question is though: 

>>>Would you put up with the players who represent your beloved football team turning up WITHOUT putting in ANY pre-match training and then getting beat 6-0? (You'd be livid!)

>>>How would you feel if you went for an operation only to find out you were the first patient whilst the surgeon had been at home for 3 months lounging around in a hot tub without even giving his/her patients' procedures a single thought? (You'd run a mile)

>>>And Yet... you'll no doubt want to kick-off at your lead generation team because they aren't making any new sales appointments day after day. 

You'll be complaining that you have to drive 4 hrs a day but not making any sales and earning zero commission even after 3 weeks. 

Or, you'll be getting really hacked off with the sales team when they take ANOTHER 12 weeks just to get back into selling mode

***IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP!!!***

(YOU & THE COMPANY ARE HEADING BLINDLY INTO ANOTHER 3 MONTHS OF HARDSHIP IF YOU DON'T)

Sound Harsh? Maybe? But... YOU Know this is going to happen, right?!

Let's face it

  • When's the last time you or your team spent time going over and practising your sales pitch?
  • Have you even thought about what new objections clients are going to throw at you and how you'll overcome them once all this is over?
  • What are you going to do differently to win the limited opportunities that are going to be available because average skills & results before are going to be an utter disaster for you after! 

EXACTLY, just what I thought... 

Not all is lost though, and I know the above comes across a bit harsh, but it is supposed to because we both know the LAZY, AVERAGE & BASIC SALARY DWELLERS aren't going to do jack about any of this which is great for the likes of you and me. 

Personally, I'm not prepared to simply let my future income and skills dwindle away for the sake of a FaceBook Hot tub picture.
