Sipho Mseleku – The Role of Christian Media in Transforming all Sectors of Society for the Kingdom of God?
In my presentation, I will speak about the role of Christian Media in influencing, shaping and transforming every sector of society. Media is a powerful tool to communicate and transform lives. We are influenced greatly by what we hear on the radio, read in newspapers, and watch on television and on other digital platforms. As Christians, how do we develop and introduce content that influences people to live a Godly instilled life, based on the word of God and that of Kingdom principles and values??
More about Sipho: As a seasoned business professional and academic, Prof. Mseleku holds many titles and has contributed to multiple sector Boards, both public and private – at national and international levels. With an impressive background as a business expert, he is the immediate past President of the Pan African Chamber of Commerce and Industry.?
In 2009, he established the Global Business Roundtable, of which he is the Convener, which has had a significant impact in almost 60 different countries. Prof. Mseleku also holds multiple academic qualifications, namely, BA (Hons), LLB, LLM (Tax Law), and H.Dip Company Law. Additionally, Mr Mseleku is the chairman of the Global Fund for Christ – uplifting the disadvantaged through education, health, infrastructure development, poverty alleviation, food security and employment creation programmes.?

Phil Cooke - Ideas on a Deadline: How to Be Creative When the Clock is Ticking?
Phil will be joining us online live from LA.?
Ideas on a Deadline is the definitive experience for creative media professionals who have to deliver breakthrough ideas on demand. One of the most destructive myths about creativity is the idea that we need to wait for inspiration. But as artist Chuck Close said, “Inspiration is for amateurs—the rest of us just show up and get to work." Whether you’re a creative professional like a designer, writer, musician, or filmmaker, or an executive, engineer, teacher or salesperson, award-winning media producer and consultant Phil Cooke will show you how to “prime the pump” of your creativity, overcome the obstacles, and deliver great ideas when you need them the most.?
More about Phil: He’s produced TV and film programming in more than 60 countries around the world. Through his company Cooke Media Group in Los Angeles, he’s helped some of the largest Christian and nonprofit organizations in the world use the media to tell their story in a changing, disrupted culture.?
He’s appeared on NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, CNN, Fox News, and his work has been profiled in The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and The Wall Street Journal.?
His book “Jolt!: Get the Jump on a World That’s Constantly Changing” shares his secrets of making today’s culture of disruption and change work for you. “One Big Thing: Discovering What You Were Born to Do” helps you find the great purpose and calling for your life – and was named by?
the Washington Post as one of the Top Five Business Books for 2012. His latest book co-written with Jonathan Bock is “The Way Back: How Christians Blew Our Credibility and How We Get it Back.” It takes a hard look at why today—particularly in the media—Christians are dismissed as irrelevant. Phil is on the Advisory Board for The Salvation Army, a Board Member of Image Journal and The Hollywood Prayer Network and has been a long time member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and The Producers Guild of America in Hollywood.?

Brian Harris – Imagining the New: Sensing the World God Wants to Shape Through Media?
Brian will be joining us live online from Australia.?
While we often feel powerless in the face of rapid change, this session suggests that those who work in media are engaged in shaping and changing attitudes and are therefore influencers who help craft the world. As Christians wanting to make a difference, we can watch and listen to what God is already doing, so that we align our efforts with God's agenda. Most social change carries the fingerprints of both the Divine and the demonic, and discerning the difference between the two is not always easy. As we cooperate with what God is doing in the world, we will find our role in Christian media opening up opportunities for us to be pastors, prophets and poets to our planet. This session will explore how the three lenses of Truth, Goodness and Beauty can provide a framework to decide which stories and art forms to champion and promote - stories that will help answer Jesus' prayer, "Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth, as in heaven", as we sense the world God wants to shape through media.?
More about Brian: Dr Brian Harris is a sought after speaker, teacher, leader and writer. A widely respected theologian, after 17 years as principal of Perth’s Vose Seminary, in 2021 he became the founding director of the AVENIR Leadership Institute, an initiative of the Carey Group committed to fostering leaders who will make a positive impact on the world.?
Brian is the author of 6 books and the co-editor of a 7th and has published widely – both in academic journals and in more popular publications. His book, The Tortoise Usually Wins: Biblical Reflections on Quiet Leadership (Paternoster, 2013) continues to empower people who don’t naturally see themselves as leaders, while The Big Picture: Building Blocks of a Christian World View is often used by theological colleges introducing students to the study of theology or Christian World View. His most recent book, Why Christianity is Probably True helps shift the tone of the discussion about faith and has been noted for its style which is winsome and disarming while being quietly persuasive.?
