How to become the CEO of your life successfully? Do what all successful people do- FIRST, take care of YOU!
It is so nice to see you here today. I love that you are giving yourself a moment. A moment, in which you grant yourself to learn more, about what you can do today to become the CEO of your life.
This is a start and it is exactly what all successful people do. They take regular breaks and then focus on.. themselves. YES! Successful people know that in order to be successful, you first have to take care of you. Before attending to anyone or anything else.
It is time for you to do just that
How does that feel {relation.firstName}? Is there already a longing that is stirring inside of you? Something that tells you that indeed it is time for you to do just that. To maybe -for once- NOT to attend to all others first? And you know what? You will be fine, as will they.
This is stepping into personal leadership. This is knowing where you want to go and realising only the best version of you will get you there. Meaning the version of you that is healthy, well-rested and fit. So to ensure you are that best version, you need to start working on yourself right now. Struggling? How to take care of YOU first
Here are some examples of what taking care of you could consist of*:
- Daily meditate
Even if it is only for 5 minutes. Use a guided meditation app when you struggle to “quiet” your mind. I like 'insight timer'. Meditation will help you to let go off stress, to release anger and to get calm. I love a guided meditation as it helps in the meantime to “work” on something. You can work on your self-confidence or personal leadership by meditating by using the right guided meditation.
- Work-out on a regular basis
This can be every day or a couple of times a week. It can be high or low in intensity. The main goal is to start moving and feel fitter. Many people try to walk at least 10.000 steps a day as their main goal to be and stay fit. How many steps have you walked today already? If walking is not for you and you like a high-intensity work-out there a many other options, which not necessarily cost a lot of time.
- Eat healthier
We all know what is good for us and what is not. You know what gives your body energy and what tires it out (if not start paying attention now). Ever had the feeling you wanted to nap after a meal? That is an indication the meal is tiring you out. I personally have been paying attention to my sugar intake. I was shocked to see that in so many products there is a huge amount of sugar. These may be products you eat every day, like bread. Cutting back on sugar has given me more energy and made me feel better.
- Take regular breaks
Go away for a weekend, take a holiday. Literally, switch off when you are away. I am typing this blog after I spent a weekend away with friends. I met my friends, we had a great time together and I feel mentally recharged. During the weekend, I was not thinking of all my to do’s, I was just having fun. Enjoying myself without feeling guilty and without stress. I know I will be more productive when I return.
*) These are all personal examples, which I know other successful people like Oprah Winfrey and Richard Branson also use. Richard Branson even calls it the cornerstone of his success.
Start today - propel yourself forward
Most of us struggle with 'putting ourselves first'. There is always so much to do, so many people who need us. We keep running. Running for others. We love helping people, and we love the feeling to be needed.
But how would it feel {relation.firstName}? If from now on you would put yourself first? How much energy would you gain, if you can first start your day with a work-out? Instead of starting with checking your emails and social media? First sitting still and setting your intention via meditation. It will all help you to enhance your focus. Focusing on getting more results. For sure that will propel you forward. That feels great, does not it? So start now! Put yourself first.
