Meet your curriculum expert, Amy….
“Growing up with the Lake District on my doorstep, I developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and wildlife early on. After living and working internationally for several years, I returned to university where my love for Geography flourished. Fortunate enough to receive a Royal Geographical Society scholarship, I trained as a teacher and remain a proud fellow of the Society today. Since then, I've been dedicated to sharing geographical knowledge and fostering a love for the subject through my teaching career.
I've had the privilege of developing teachers and recently led a thriving geography department in London, a role that remains a highlight of my career. In addition, I serve as Vice Chair of the Geographical Association’s International Special Interest Group, allowing me to stay at the forefront of pedagogical practices while exploring education beyond the classroom.
“My connection with Flooglebinder began as a client when they organised an unforgettable trip to Iceland for my Year 10-13 students. With that came the exciting opportunity to join Floogle as their Curriculum Exploration Officer (Geography and Environment). I can't wait to get stuck in, designing bespoke study tours that address sustainability challenges and provide students with transformative experiences in some of the world’s most biodiverse and geographically rich environments.
I'll also make sure the teachers are well taken care of as I know exactly what it's like to organise and lead international trips during a busy school term! While considering a study tour with us, I'd be delighted to talk geography with you and support your department’s mission to inspire the next generation of sustainably-minded geographers and explorers in whatever way I can!”

Working in partnership with the Geographical Association, Flooglebinder had the pleasure of designing and hosting a GA members’ trip to the beautiful Azores. S?o Miguel Island in the Azores archipelago is a geographical gem that offers teachers a vibrant, living classroom filled with unique natural phenomena and rich biodiversity. With its dramatic volcanic landscapes, laurisilva valleys, and stunning caldera lakes like Sete Cidades and Lagoa do Fogo, the island provides a rare opportunity to study geological processes, ecosystems, and climate variations all in one place.
The island's unique position in the Atlantic Ocean, above the junction of three tectonic plates, makes it a golden case study for understanding plate tectonics and oceanic influences on weather patterns. S?o Miguel's combination of epic natural beauty and scientific intrigue means it's a perfect destination for students to witness geography in action and develop a profound appreciation for Earth's dynamic systems.
If you would like to find out more about our Azores itinerary and this destination, please get in touch, this is so much more than a conservation project, this is an opportunity to be a geographer, an ecologist, a hiker and a true adventurer!

NEW study trip: Morocco ?- cities, coasts, mountains and deserts
Team Flooglebinder has been in Morocco this month, building and refining our new geography-focused study tour. It’s been an epic road trip; from soaking up the incredible architecture and culture of Casablanca, exploring the cultural, spiritual, and intellectual heart of the country, Fez and exploring the endless beauty of the High Atlas Mountains.
This Morocco adventure is a physical geographer's dream - mountains, deserts and coasts. Think of ever-changing landscapes, visits to fortified villages and oasis towns, exploring Berber farming communities, crossing silent deserts and full immersion in the multicultural, vibrant cities of Essaouira and Marrakesh.
