It’s Time for My Next Chapter

It’s Time for My Next Chapter

Today is bittersweet. After co-founding and leading Pluralsight for the last 20 years, in the heart of Silicon Slopes , I’ve decided to step down from my day-to-day operational duties as CEO. I believe now is the right time to hand the baton to someone who can lead Pluralsight into its next phase of growth.

Chris Walters will assume the role of CEO and President of Pluralsight, effective immediately. Chris has deep experience growing and scaling content and data-driven businesses having held leadership roles at both The Weather Company and 彭博资讯 . It’s been great getting to know Chris and I will continue working with him to ensure a seamless transition. You can see the press release we issued this morning to learn more about Chris and his background.

It goes without saying that I care deeply about Pluralsight and its future success. Given that, I will remain engaged as Special Advisor to the Board and CEO.

The Pluralsight journey has been rich and full of evolution. Bootstrapping for a decade with just a few people and slide decks. Our hyper-growth phase fueled by multiple rounds of fundraising all the way to an IPO. Our many pivots and transformations including our move from the classroom to the cloud, from B2C to B2B, from small business to enterprise, and from developers to tech professionals. Along the way, we completed over 10 acquisitions, created many of our own “industry firsts,” held some amazing events, and continually obsessed over what’s next.

I could never have imagined that when we established Pluralsight as a classroom training provider for developers all those years ago, that we’d eventually evolve into something used by millions of tech professionals around the globe every day.

And it’s because of the countless amazing people who believed in our mission and helped build it. From my first mentor, Don Box , who taught me the art of storytelling and how it can make even the most difficult of subjects fun to learn. To my co-founders, Fritz Onion and Keith Sparkjoy, who were the best partners and friends one can hope for in business. To my first investor, Ryan Hinkle , who believed in me and became my biggest supporter. To the many executives and leaders who joined our team and taught us what we didn’t know – you know who you are. To our authors, who continue to innovate and inspire our customers every day. And to each and every team member who contributed something special.

I’m so grateful to all of you. You each made your mark on our journey.

The future is bright – I’ll be cheering for Chris and our team every step of the way.
