It's time for me to move on!

In everyone's life comes the day when you recognize that it is time to change something. The day you feel that it is time to move on. The day to start something new. Talking about my business life, the day that changes a lot for me has come. It's today.

Entrepreneurship

I founded my first IT company in August 2000, exactly 20 years ago. Since then I have been an entrepreneur in the IT business, running several companies in Switzerland either alone or together with partners. It has been an amazing journey and I always enjoyed the fact to drive the company into a direction I thought was right. To make my own decisions.

The last company I founded together with partners back in February 2019 was 'make it noble'. Our vision was to deliver real business value to Swiss customers using Microsoft cloud services and we delivered services with a strong focus on everything Azure, modern workplace and security. In 1.5 years we had lots of successes to celebrate: Beside a company growth of approx. 100%, we made several Microsoft Gold Partner certifications, delivered lots of cloud projects for new customers, established a close relationship with Microsoft Switzerland, positioned our brand on the Swiss market (and abroad) and finally had brilliant revenue & profit numbers.

Switzerland does not sleep

The external visibility of my companies (and also the visibility of myself as a person) in the market and communities has always been an important success factor to me. Because of this, our latest project quickly appeared on the radars of other companies that were interested to work with us. Unexpectedly, one of them was interested in discussing potential M&A scenarios with us and so we got into the first conversations. Only 1.5 years after we founded 'make it noble', after several months of negotiations and internal discussions, and finally hours thinking privately about it, we finally agreed how exactly we want to shape our future together. We together with SoftwareONE.

SoftwareONE is a leading global platform, solutions and services provider with 30 years of experience in software and technology. Most people in the IT business are aware of that. However, what many do not know is that SoftwareONE is a Swiss company that is still headquartered in Stans-Switzerland. That said, we already had lots of touch points with their teams in the past years and know some key employees for many years already. That made our conversations and negotiations easier.

A new era is about to start for me

The founders of 'make it noble' and parts of the team have been acqui-hired by SoftwareONE and will start their new challenge on September 1, 2020. The vision of 'make it noble' will live on, but we will be able to work on it at a much higher cadence, with more human and financial resources and a much stronger impact on the market. In the next months our autonomous and agile team will be expanded further based on our business and growth plans. We will mainly work with Swiss customers and drive the Microsoft cloud business in our country, but also support SoftwareONE on a DACH and global level. I am really much looking forward to this new era, and to drive our Microsoft cloud traction forward!
