It’s time to “GO GREEN”

Man is traveling very fast in a path of destruction to Earth , where he has no time to look back the consequences. Actions of man is causing a lots and lots of damage to nature but he forgets the Newton’s third law , “ For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction”.

Acid Rain is a serious threat for the countries around the globe. United states is very vulnerable to it and India faces an increasing threat from acid rain. Power usage is increasing day-by-day, To compensate it, the electricity need to be produced and generally coal is the main source for generating electricity.

COAL alone can’t be blamed for environmental degradation, his companions oil and natural gas also contribute to it. Majority of electricity we use today is obtained by burning coal.

Fossil fuels are burnt to produce electricity. Along with electricity we are complimented with sulfur -dioxide and Nitrogen-oxides, the harmful gases where it is released into the atmosphere.

These harmful gases combines with oxygen and water in atmosphere and flow down as acid-rain. It leads to destruction like acidification of waterways, Soils, plants, wild-life, human beings and public property. Acid-rain doesn’t show partiality, All living and Non-living things are accounted in Acid-Rain . It doesn’t leave the bacteria, other microbes and insects beneficial to soil and atmosphere

The impact of acid-rain is enormous. It destroys the aquatic life, many cases have been seen like, Eggs of fishes doesn’t hatch because of acid rain.

The particulate matter enter deep into the lungs of human and they are affected by Asthma and Bronchitis. NOx emissions also contribute to ground level ozone.

Acid rain has the capacity to remove minerals and nutrients essential for trees to grow. Acidic fog and clouds at hilly areas causes the trees to absorb lesser sunlight and in-turn the trees become weak

Acid rain can be reduced or prevented by minimizing the usage of fossil fuels and to compensate the energy deficit, Renewable energy can be used.Renewable energy is a cleaner and a greener energy , free from harmful gases.
