It's time to embrace "Blockcom"

I am fed up with "Blockchain Company". And "Blockchain Companies". Fed up to the absolute back teeth with typing out the enormous SEVENTEEN letter monstrosity that is "Blockchain Company".

I have to type those 17 letters out so much. You know I've actually got my Word to autocorrect "bccomp" to spell "Blockchain Company" and despite copy and pasting it as much as absolutely possible, I still hate having to type it out so often. And my fingers always get the o and the c the wrong way around to "blcokchain company" and no where is it autocorrected. Damn it.

So I would like to propose the industry-wide adoption of the term "Blockcom".

"Blockcom"

Just roll it off your tongue. Just open up a fresh email and let your fingers fly over those 8 golden letters.

Easy isn't it?

It's not coined by me - I heard it when I was listening to "Blockchain Revolution" by Don and Alex Tapscott. But it doesn't seem to have caught on at all and I can't understand why.

Maybe there are too many emotional scars out there from the "dotcom" days?

Or maybe blockchain companies just don't see themselves as "Blockcoms" and instead see themselves as a "blockchain-based company" or a "blockchain-based start-up" or a "blockchain-driven fintech" etc.

Whatever reason it hasn't been adopted, I am going to use this article to make the case for tech industry to adopt of the word "Blockcom".

Its short, sweet and does what it says on the tin.
