It's Time to Do in 2017
As 2017 comes rushing in there are so many unknowns. The global political environment. The natural environment. And, the radical digital transformation that every one of our industries is in the throughs of. It's easy to be overwhelmed and get stuck digging deep into what's happening and why it's happening. I've always found myself a "Why" guy. I'm always intrigued by the root cause of things. It's almost an academic obsession. And, 2016 holds a lot of events that could be analyzed to death.
Today I was rereading Flipped. In it, I found this:
"It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, and comes short again and again, because there is not effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

Let's all but aside the pondering in 2017, the what if's and become doers of great deeds.
