It's That Time Again
Take this one as advice or a thinly veiled pitch but the #1 thing not to do is to ignore it. One of the largest and longstanding venture conferences in the Southeast is happening again on March 20-21st. This year it will be in downtown Raleigh and promises to help connect you at scale.
Why am I pitching this event? Besides being the board chair at the CED (the org that is putting this on), I'm a huge supporter of this ecosystem. I (alongside my team at 2ndF) have spent the past year visiting investors across the country to encourage their participation in the region. From Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston and Philadelphia we've cajoled and convinced investors that this region merits attention and that this event is a great entry point to engage with the community. But to benefit you've got to show up. Our companies have to show up regardless of what stage of growth they are operating at. From seed to growth to ready for IPO we need you there so that these investors can see the true diversity of opportunity and talent here.
Here are some specific value drivers:
Founders
Investors
Supporters
I've definitely heard the "It's expensive" messaging out there but I guarantee it will cost you more in time, resource and opportunity should you choose to not attend. I also use this event as a litmus test for new founders. If you are truly serious about building a high growth company this is the venue for you to come connect and learn from.
I'll look forward to seeing many of the people I've not had a chance to meet as well as many of my long standing friends and colleagues there. Register here:

1 年Great conference site! Clear and easy to navigate. (I was curious for another conference I have been on the board of in the past.) Nice work to whomever is in charge of that marketing!
