It's a takeover

I’ll admit it, the sun has gotten the best of me (and I might even have heat stroke). For this reason, I’ve enlisted Emily Sawyer to pen today’s edition of The Roar live from the Croisette, which we’ll fondly refer to as The Meow. Over to you Emily...

We’re taking Kenan Thompson’s advice and believe that laughter truly is the best medicine, so saddle up and get ready to ROFL through today's disconnected musings.

• The sun faded behind the clouds for a brief bit, but the flaming humidity still proved too much for all-natural deodorant.
• We discovered that a large, iced coffee does not exist in this town and that ice in general is a scarce commodity in France.
• Luigi’s wait staff are talented singers, and after some fan fave songs, we were talented drinkers too.
• Pinterest Beach ran out of Crocs, Inc. , except for a size 45 plus shoe. Big Foot is in luck!
• After visiting Fragonard Parfumeur , our noses will smell nothing but eau de parfum for the next three weeks.
• It’s no small coincidence that our TikTok feeds are filled with nothing but French skin care recommendations. Our bank accounts do not appreciate the extra exfoliation.
• Ribbon bracelets are as good as gold when it comes to beach entrance. While they are technically nontransferable, Vaseline works wonders because sharing is caring.
• And don’t worry, we don’t live in a complete Cannes vacuum, but we are pretty sure Justin Timberlake won’t be making an appearance on the Croisette any time soon.
