I am excited to announce that my book, the MIRROR Method: how to build productive teams by ending workplace dysfunction, is now available on Amazon (and iBook, Kobo, Kindle and many others). 

As many of you know, this book is a culmination of the many lessons in leadership, law and life that I have learned over the years. 

Most would think, understandably, that these lessons began with my law degree. Not so. In fact, my first lessons in natural justice and principled decision making began when I was a young girl. Throughout my childhood, I often found myself in the presence of my dad (Manly Rusen), a retired lawyer and judge, listening to and considering his views on current events and/or particular conflicts in the local and broader communities. I saw in him an unending commitment to “balanced viewpoints” and “evidence-driven assessments” that I have endeavoured to replicate in my own life – both personally and professionally. Most importantly, I saw in him a man who greets a homeless person with the same level of respect and civility as a wealthy CEO. These early lessons, in my experience, far surpass any that I have learned in more formal venues.

Last week, I visited my father at his retirement home in Winnipeg (that is us in the photo). I presented him with the very first copy of the MIRROR Method as his influence is found in every page of this book and in everything that I do.
