It's a Small World: A Fresh Beginning

It's a Small World: A Fresh Beginning

Greetings Friends

I’ve been speaking with family and friends across the country, and amidst all the seasonal and societal cold and grey, I’m hearing a sense of optimism, seeing a glimmer of light.

How about you? I'd love to hear your take?

In this month’s update, I’m excited to introduce you to a fabulous realtor partner out of Philadelphia, debut a new neighborhood video, announce an upcoming new listing and highlight a few really cool things to experience this weekend in LA. And if you’re a nostalgia geek like me, you'll likely dig the rare footage from LA’s innocent past.

warmly/ps

The Philly Specialist; Meet Wendy Schwartz

With apologies to the Eagles who crash landed two weeks ago, Wendy Schwartz is flying high. A lifelong resident of North West Philadelphia, Wendy has been helping Buyers and Sellers realize their dreams for more than 20 years.

Armed with an MSW degree from the University of Denver, Wendy is a empathic powerhouse who helps her clients integrate both their rational and emotional desires as they traverse the real estate process. She and her team are also active in many community-based charities, providing public health and housing services in Latin America and the City of Philadelphia via such organizations as Amigos de Las Americas, HIAS and the Welcome Center.

Meet Wendy in the short video below, and if you are considering the greater Philadelphia region for residential or investment purposes, I’d love to make an introduction.

MY LA: This is Beverly Hills

It's somewhat stating the obvious that Beverly Hills is one of the world’s most iconic cities. Short hand for glamour and glitz and home to countless celebrities, you could be excused for thinking that's it's not a normal neighborhood.?

But, for the some 34,000 residents who live in The Flats, Roxbury Park, the Golden Triangle or Southwest Doheny, it’s still just “our little town.” And as someone who grew up on its “mean streets” I’m proud to show it to you.

Things to Do In LA This Weekend

Uncorked Wine Festival: January 27th

What’s not to like: 150 wines and bubbles, live music, food trucks, all housed in the iconic Union Station with proceeds benefiting the nonprofit A Kid Again, which curates experiences for children with life threatening illnesses.

Cheeseburger Week: January 25, 26 and 27

Are you a cheeseburger affionado? Then head over to Pasadena this week to participate in the Cheeseburger Challenge, where you can sample and vote for your favorites. The competition continues through January 27th.

Stand Up For Pups: January 26th

Love comedy but love your pups even more? Why not enjoy both at this dog-friendly comedy show at the Annenberg PetSpace in Playa Vista. With sets from Faysal Lawrence, Kaela Crawford, Vargus Mason, and hosted by Caitlin Benson, a portion of the proceeds benefit the PetSpace Extraordinary Care Fund.?

COMING SOON: South Beverly Glen

When my parents came to Los Angeles in 1951, their first apartment was on South Beverly Glen between Wilshire and Santa Monica, so this street and neighborhood has always carried a special place in my heart. And that's just one of the reasons I’m thrilled to share that I’m currently prepping a large, light-filled 2 bedroom condo located just a few blocks south.

More to come soon

In the meantime, check out this travelogue to LA's past with my very young parents cavorting with their friends in front of their Beverly Glen apartment. And if you're familiar with the area, you'll likely recognize a few buildings that are still there today, some 70+ years later (and, those cars).?

What is the role of an Agent?

After 40+ years of representing the best interests of my clients, I’ve learned a few things. First and foremost: it’s about YOU not ME. My role is simply to help you get clear on your goals, provide opportunities that help you reach those goals, and then ensure you achieve those goals as effectively as possible.

If you know someone who could benefit from that level of representation, I'd be grateful for an introduction.

Thank you.

A native Angeleno, I grew up in a "show-biz family" and began my career as a third-generation theatrical agent impacting the careers of actors including the likes of Crispin Glover, Ray Liotta and Demi Moore. After beginning a family, I traded Sunset Blvd for Madison Avenue and spent the next 20 years in advertising, creating and implementing marketing strategies that drove new business growth, resulting in the successful onboarding of clients such as Coca-Cola, Comcast, Electronic Arts, Nike, Pinkberry, Princess Cruises and the US Army among many others.

I now apply those same principles of agency; integrity, accountability and hustle to my clients as we work together to define and fulfill their real estate strategies.
