It's A Small World: Even Brighter Than The Moon
Patriotism is alive and well in LA

It's A Small World: Even Brighter Than The Moon

Greetings Friends.

Well, we made it through. Time was, on the 4th you'd shoot off a few Roman Candles, cone fountains, ground-bloom flowers, and some drizzle-swizzle twisters (I made up that last one) and feel like you did your patriotic duty. In today’s LA, however, it’s a weekly lead up of escalating explosions culminating in what can simply be described as one long (really long) night of shock and awe. WTF!

This month, I’m introducing a great realtor who calls San Clemente home, bringing you some great vibes and new listings in the turbo-legit neighborhood of Highland Park and sharing some thoughts on what I believe is at the core of a great agent/client relationship.

And, for those that haven't yet had their fill of fireworks, the Hollywood Bowl has a couple of upcoming programs that will brighten up your night sky.

So let’s dig in. Flame On!

San Clemente & Dana Point - Meet Jill Livingston

Jill Livingston, Compass Dana Point/San Clemente

Today I'm traveling south along PCH - roughly midway between LA and San Diego - to the beach communities of Dana Point and San Clemente where I'm thrilled to introduce you to my associate, Jill Livingston.

I first met Jill last year when I visited the Compass Dana Point office for a full day of networking. I was immediately taken in by her infectious personality; Jill is flat out fun to hang with. That all that personality is backed by years of excellence navigating all aspects of the real estate experience on behalf of her clients makes her even more remarkable.

You can meet Jill in the video below and if San Clemente or Dana Point are communities you would like to explore, I can’t think of a realtor I would rather refer you to.

My LA: Highland Park

Located in Northeast Los Angeles (NELA), Highland Park has experienced so much gentrification since 2005 that you could think of it as LA's Brooklyn. Of special interest are the neighborhood’s surviving Craftsman homes, built in the early 20th Century when the area was an enclave for artists and intellectuals who were adherents of the Arts and Crafts movement. And, while home prices have accelerated over the past few years, there is still a great deal of opportunity to be had in this gloriously diverse neighborhood.

Explore the culture of Highland Park in this wonderful video the LA Times has put together and reach out to me if you’d like to check out any home in Highland Park or any of the other six neighborhoods in NELA.

Creating Community at The Skirball

Last December we held a number of town hall events across LA - ostensibly to promote our book A Festival of Light. What we experienced was extraordinary; strangers coming together to create community while discussing what 8 core human values meant to them.

I hope the highlights from our evening at the Skirball will inspire you as it did all those who participated.

JUST LEASED!

I am so happy for my clients who are moving back to LA after a 3 year adventure in Lake Arrowhead. We found this beauty in Eagle Rock and negotiated a great price (down 13% from list) just in time for them to enroll their daughter in middle school for the upcoming fall semester.

Fireworks at The Bowl

As I mentioned at the top, the 4th isn't the end of fireworks at The Bowl. One of its cherished traditions is the Tchaikovsky Spectacular which ignites this year on Friday and Saturday August 18th and 19th.

This year the program includes Swan Lake, Romeo & Juliet, the 1st Concerto and it all comes to a fiery climax when the USC Trojan Marching Band and fireworks cap off the night with the always rousing 1812 Overture.

You can purchase tickets here.

A native Angeleno, I grew up in a "show-biz family" and began my career as a third-generation theatrical agent impacting the careers of actors and writers including the likes of Crispin Glover, Ray Liotta and Demi Moore. After beginning a family, I traded Sunset Blvd for Madison Avenue and spent the next 20 years in advertising, creating and implementing marketing strategies that drove new business growth, resulting in the successful onboarding of clients such as Coca-Cola, Comcast, Electronic Arts, Nike, Pinkberry, Princess Cruises and the US Army among many others.

I now apply those same principles of agency; integrity, accountability and hustle to my clients as we work together to define and fulfill their real estate investment strategies.
