"It's the Simple Things in Life You Treasure"??

Can you place that quote? I'll give you a second...

You got it right! ?? That's Fred Kwan, played by Tony Shalhoub in, possibly, my favorite movie of all time, GalaxyQuest. It's the scene where he transports the rock monster into the... (Sorry, nerd alert)

But let's dive into why this matters. We live in a time when the simple things, the stuff that just works, can feel very futuristic—especially with the current generation of large language models (LLMs).

As I sat in my daughter's vocal recital last night, I perused the list of songs and students who would sing them. The song names were listed without any context. For instance, 'You'll Be Back' or 'I Speak Six Languages.' I wanted to know where the 20+ songs came from—a Broadway show, a movie, etc.

So, I did what any modern parent would do: I took a quick picture of the program (above), uploaded it into my ChatGPT app on the iPhone, and typed, 'Tell me where these songs are from.' The results came in seconds.

Instant Gratification, AI Style ??

Here's what ChatGPT delivered:

ChatGPT delivers with a recital program

First, I know what you are saying, someone sang 'You'll Be Back' from Hamilton? YES. And it was ??.

But back to the point—ChatGPT knew exactly what I wanted, even with the most lame, of lame prompts.

Invisible Tech is Where It's At ??

It's the little things that make the new age of AI so groundbreaking. Remember the early days of smartphones? A good number of folks didn't see the potential beyond making calls and sending texts. But when apps started to seamlessly integrate into our daily lives—ordering food, hailing a ride, tracking fitness—the real magic happened. When the tech becomes invisible, that's when the world shifts.

So many people these days are NOT using AI. Those of us paying attention forget that we happen to be in the 'I pay attention to tech news bubble.' I'm literally using it in every moment of my day. The kicker: soon, even those outside the tech bubble will be using it too, without even realizing it.

This is not news to most of you. We took a large step in this direction with 苹果 's announcement of Apple Intelligence at WWDC. Apple, potentially the King of invisible tech, has laid down the path. All of us, even Grandma, will be 'using' AI without even knowing it.

Resistance is Futile ??

I'm not telling you anything new. We've been living in a ChatGPT world for a year+. The key question is—are you ready? The future isn't waiting. It's here, it’s powerful, and it’s reshaping the very fabric of our daily lives—every moment.

Embrace it, leverage it, and prepare to be amazed by the simplicity and power it brings to your everyday moments. I'm personally pumped! This isn't just technology; this is the new normal.

And it is going to make all those 'little things' even better.
