It's Secret Santa Time!
It is that time of the year again! Something we all look forward to. Beautiful weather, break from work (not for us hoteliers!), travel and what not!
Secret Santa is one of the activities we all organize at our companies and brands. Here are my two cents on my experience with this activity that will help you organize it without causing stress to anyone involved!
Here are few pointers from my experiences -
+ When announcing secret santa program, do mention that it is purely voluntary & anyone who wish to not participate, can say so; no questions asked!
+ There is a price range to the amount one can spend on the gift. Not more, not less. This ensures that everyone sticks to this range and no one is pressurized to buy expensive. It also tickles the creative juices to find a gift that fits all the criteria mentioned
+ We used to suggest to buy something that one can use in their daily lives; especially if it can be reused!

+ Secret santa names are taken by lucky draw. So, unless you wish to reveal yourselves during the gifts exchange, you don't have to. So, no pressure on you if the receiver likes the gift or not!
+ It is a great occasion of getting together and bringing in the festive season and the close of a great year for all of us as a team.
+ Lastly, here is the image of one of the Secret Santa gifts I received way back in 2013. I still use it and is one of the most practical gifts I've ever got & I cherish the most!
So, go ahead and celebrate this festive season with your team! Have fun, make it inclusive! Here is me wishing all of you a great festive season ahead!

2 å¹´Very well said. Since the last 10 years that I have been in a senior manager position/head of department I have successfully managed to have my team celebrate the concept of Secret Santa and it has definitely created a lot of bonding and team spirit amongst them. Secret Santa has always been kept optional and a very nominal budget which has allowed all participants also to be a part of it with all smiles and look forward to it eagerly. So the secret to Secret Santa is play it along with your team and let them 'enjoy' it.
