This November 8th, millions of Americans will be off to the voting booths to cast their votes for the 45th U.S. President. Regardless of who you choose to vote for, there’s no denying that this election season has been an interesting one. If you haven’t yet registered to vote (or it’s your first time!), check out the seven apps below; they’ll help you get registered in under a minute—and figure out what exactly you’re doing in the process. :-)
Register to Vote
Register to vote in 30 seconds by scanning your ID.
This mobile app is so easy to use. Once you download it, just scan your state ID, verify your information, and submit your registration to vote. you’ll get a confirmation via email or snail mail (depending on the state you’re in). Note: This app currently only works for voters in: California, Pennsylvania, Missouri, Arizona, Colorado, and Massachusetts.

The ultimate voting guide and registration platform.
This site is geared toward getting more millennials to vote in 2016. You can register to vote if you aren’t already, but what distinguishes this site is the leaderboard and voting guide. The leaderboard features top colleges and individuals who have gotten the most people to register to vote. The voting guide is also incredibly useful, featuring a handful of mini guides that explain all of the different parts of voting (like how to: vote early or in person, get time off on Election Day, and know all of your rights as a voter).
Vote.org
Everything you need to vote.
Use Vote.org to check if you’re registered to vote, register if you aren’t, and get an absentee ballot if you can’t vote in person on election day. There are also links on the homepage to every state election center so you have everything you need to vote in your state. If you’re confused by specific voter ID laws or need to find a polling location close to you, you can find all of that (and more) here.
Register to vote with just a few text messages.
This chat bot will help you register to vote. Just enter your phone number onthis site, or text HELLO to 384–387, and HelloVote will guide you through filling out the voter registration form for your state. In some states, your answers will submit directly to state forms online (no paper to fill out!). In other states, you might have to fill out a form that HelloVote will send to you via email or snail mail—and if you choose the latter, it’ll come with a stamped envelope…so you don’t even have to pay for postage!

This is a very useful (and fun) way to encourage your network to vote—especially since there are different voter registration deadlines in different states. Just download your state’s GIF, and share it directly on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr. You can also copy the link directly if you want to text or email your friends about the upcoming voter registration deadline where you live.

8 年It is easy to vote as polls are typically open 13 hours in each state, and an ID is easy to get if you don't have it already. Yet likely only 50% of registered voters will in fact cast a vote which is shameful
