It's real. We did it!

At 8:30 am this morning, the CMA CGM JACQUES SAADE, 23,000 teus powered by LNG and flagship of our fleet, left the port of Rotterdam after an unprecedented STS bunkering operation of 18,000 m3 LNG.

After the CMA CGM TENERE last week, 14,800 teus chartered to Eastern Pacific, this is the second operation of this scale, and carried out in SIMOPS.

These two operations are the consecration of 3 years of intense work by the CMA CGM teams (10 years for our New Build team!), but also of course by our partners and suppliers in this disruptive adventure: CSSC Shipyard, WinGD, GTT, TOTAL, MOL , Eastern Pacific, Port of Rotterdam and RWG Terminal.

This is a strong signal sent to the industry, and I really hope that this will boost the sector. LNG as a marine fuel is today the best (and the only scalable for the next few years!) solution to address the public health and environmental challenges we have to face. These two great ladies are the illustration.

We are only at the beginning, and significant progress will happen soon across the entire LNG supply chain. We are already working on it.

I am very proud to have actively participated in this project since 2017, and I want to share this pride with all those with whom I have had the chance to work.

Great job and congrats to all, and particularly to the crews and chief engineers of these vessels who carried out these operations perfectly and in complete safety.
