It's Raining Change - Hallelujah?

Not many organisations are happy to embrace the idea that 'It's Raining Change".
However, in an organisation of any size, it usually is - all day and all night.
It is not uncommon for an organisation of three thousand plus employees to have seventy or more 'significant' projects going on at any one time (that's not counting BAU 'done off the smell of an oily rag' projects).
In global companies like Siemens, three thousand employees is more like a team!
Statistica reports that this organisation has 303,000 thousand employees globally.
Incidentally, massive organisations like Siemens and 3M are mystery enterprises.
They are huge, delivering a gamut of products and services, and regularly achieve enormous profits.
But they fly entirely under the public radar.
Is it that 'sticky tape just ain't sexy?'.??
But imagine how many projects they have going on simultaneously...!
So it's always raining change.
The trick is to build an organisation that is?change fit.
A change-fit organisation has high maturity.
They see change as a constant, a fuel to the fire ensuring continuous improvement, innovation and competitive advantage.
And what are the qualities you need to get to that?
The first is a commitment to the journey of change maturity.
Rome wasn't built in a day, and organisations don't get change fit overnight.
They build leader resilience AND employee resilience.
The C-Suite live the value of 'one team, one dream', and it's?not?ironic (as it so frequently is).

They align projects to strategy and purpose.
They don't sweat where the work's done but rather the quality and speed of delivery.
They work hard to quantify the skills and competencies their employees will require to be adept in a new future and invest in them to GET those skills.
They create an environment of psychological safety, and a lot of that comes down to mindset.
They encourage questions, and they LOVE the hard questions.
They constantly ask themselves, 'What have I missed?', 'How could we do this differently?', 'How could we be wrong about this?' and, 'What ELSE COULD good look like?'
In these organisations, leadership isn't a cult of personality.
It's a collaboration between a person who's good at getting the best out of people and a bunch of people doing their best and loving it.
If the organisation sings, 'It's raining change - hallelujah!" you know you've got there.
