If anyone doesn't think there is a consumer revolution in healthcare, digital health took center stage at CES, the massive Consumer Electronics Show ... 100,000+ people. Not just to see robotic dogs and self driving motorcycles, but to dream about how technology can provide healthcare at any address. @CES #ces2023
- Yes, CES had wow products, but it is integrated platforms that will make the revolution of healthcare at any address. One of the great ones I was saw is a simple integrated, in-home connector for anything in the house. Smart fridge? Scale? Blood pressure cuff? Connection to your doctor's office? Link them all. Simplest integrated standard for home health I've seen is Stel Life @vitalshub and @sidkandan.
- My personal wow was interviewing on stage Stéphane Bancel, the CEO of Moderna about their radical collaboration with Merck on personalized cancer vaccines. Once again, it's the platform of research/therapy developed by Moderna that will speed a revolution in using what we've learned about the immune system to turn the page on cancer. He brilliantly is to "de-mythed" mRNA technology. @moderna_tx
- The spotlight on health equity and disparities that came out of the pandemic is desperately needed. The spotlight will not go away nor should it. We must do better. The widening gap between America's tiered system is a disgrace. To me, we face two existential threats - climate change, and health inequity. That was the core of our panel on the future of healthcare at CES with Dr. Carlos Nunez @ResMed, @SusanTurneyMD @mfldclinic, Dr. Raman-Tangella @TeladocHealth, and my friend Dr. Anne Docimo @UHC.
Bottom line: The "healthcare at any address" revolution is here. Our responsibility is to make sure we transform health for everyone. We CANNOT just make the wealthy healthier.

2 年Integrated digital platform!! Stephen Klasko I am still a follower of you. Great direction!!
Well said, Dr. Klasko. - Connected devices for sure. - And personalized medicine - best approach to specifically address each person's own biology! Huge component to promote drug effectiveness/ efficacy - not to mention mitigating adverse events. -Health equity and climate change will determine our survival. Your platform: Relating to your discourse over the past few years, re: physician education and training shifts, your 3 pillars can be better leveraged when physicians can be further empowered and thereby better engage w/ their patients. Focusing on keeping communities healthy rather than passing them off to get sicker - is a key initiative that is needed! Education Empowers across the board: Better education of health and 'medicine' for ALL. -Teaching doctors nutrition so they can teach nutrition and paying more attention to patients mental health. - Doctors writing "workout" scripts....the list is endless. Replace: "Take this" with "Do this".

2 年Thanks for sharing your insights Stephen Klasko! Was fun catching up with you and the Stel Life, Inc. team
Providing strategy, business development, and commercialization expertise to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and vaccine industry.
2 年Great observations and definitely thought provoking, Real challenges with data and platform standardization, HIPAA requirements, etc, especially when you are linking healthcare devices with refrigerators. That said, individual healthcare at any address with your existing healthcare network and providers should be available now. And with improved WiFi access, we should anticipate improvements in healthcare equity. Sadly there are other social determinants beyond WiFi and appliance access that impact healthcare equity. But technology and education are critical components to any exponential advancements.
