It's personal.. NOT professional!

It feels like an??extreme push in Education for professional development whilst also limiting your choice of said professional development. So is it?really a choice anymore? Or is it just to keep up with the buzz words that our schools are implementing??

I wanted to share a transformative?journey – one that has shaped my beliefs around teaching and the reason I now do what I do. I used to think that strategies were the magic key to unlocking success in the classroom. I believed that with the right set of tools and techniques, I could conquer any teaching challenge. But now, I know that the true strategy lies within the teacher themselves.

You see, we educators invest countless hours in professional development, attending workshops, seeking the latest teaching trends and I haven’t mentioned meetings. While these efforts are commendable, I have come to realize that no amount of external knowledge can truly empower us if we are hindered by unresolved trauma or limiting beliefs.

Our experiences, both in and out of the classroom, shape our perspectives and teaching practices. But what about the inner world of the teacher? The emotions, the beliefs, the traumas that might hold us back from unleashing our full potential?

As I delved deeper into the realm of teacher empowerment, I discovered the invaluable role of coaching. Engaging a coach is like turning on the light within, illuminating the path to self-awareness, personal growth, and resilience. It's about acknowledging that the teacher is the ultimate strategy.

A coach helps us uncover and release the shackles of limiting beliefs, classroom trauma, and self-doubt that may hinder our progress. They empower us to rise above challenges, build resilience, and embrace a growth mindset.

Through my own coaching journey, I have experienced profound shifts in my teaching approach. I realized that my beliefs were shaping my reality, and by changing them, I could change my entire teaching experience. I felt lighter, more confident, and ready to take on any challenge.
