It's an Opportunity
Today a wonderful lady that I worked with long ago posted that she had just been made redundant...again.
She is shattered - she loved her job but, as we all know, things are always changing and the position that was once there now no longer exists.
I have experienced being made redundant and I am sure that many people have as well. It happens and it happens frequently.
So it is time to flip the way we think about being made redundant.
We can be upset and I do not want to be flippant about this as it usually comes out of the blue. But we can look at it as an opportunity - not as a negative.
If your employer is ethical, you will receive a pay out that should allow you the breathing space to look for a new role.
That new role may turn out to be a better role than the one that you just had! If you have been made redundant before you may have had this experience already.
You could also take the opportunity to reskill or upskill. Do some training and add to your resume while you are looking for your next role.
Of course, you could also take the opportunity to relax and re-evaluate exactly what you want from not only your next role - but what you want out of life.
Just look at it as an opportunity and see what comes up next. Chances are, you will end up in a better place than before.
