But it's only a breakout room!

#RaiseTheScreen to a minimum of 5'6" (1.6m) from the floor so everyone can see ALL the content past the 2nd row.
The screen size depends on the distance to the furthest seat.
Formula - screen height (SH) = 1/8 distance to furthest seat (FS).
Typical breakout room - 10-foot high ceiling (unobstructed by lighting, soffits) - the screen bottom has to start 5'6" from the floor.
The remaining height for a screen - is 4'6".
How far should the furthest seat be? 4'6" x 8 = 36 feet. Anyone further will not be able to read the typical type.
I have found there are three reasons the breakout room screen are -
- Wrong room is booked - qualify a room by ceiling height and furthest viewer
- AV Contractor only has 30" dress kit skirt. Bad excuse. Place a few schoolroom tables with black cloths and skirts to cover the gap.
- Tripod screens can go only so high. Use foldup screen with safety weights on the screen legs.
