It's National Volunteer Week 2023 (April 16-22)

DMX Consulting, LLC is thrilled to celebrate National Volunteer Month 2023. The National Volunteer Week (April 16-22) theme for 2023 is “Volunteering Weaves Us Together.” This reveals the importance of volunteering to the strength and vibrancy of our communities through the interconnected actions we take to support one another.

In honor of National Volunteer Week, I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the wonderful volunteers who serve our community with selflessness and dedication. Your contributions deserve to be recognized and fully appreciated, and the beneficiary organizations value everything you do to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

I commit a fair share of my time to give back to the community. One of the exciting ways is through Junior League of Collin County (JLCC) membership. The Junior League of Collin County is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. What's not to love?!

I served as the 2022-2023 JLCC Nonprofit Excellence Workshop Committee Chair. This committee was responsible for providing free training resources monthly to nonprofit organizations. It was through the dedicated volunteers who donated their subject matter expertise each month that the workshops were offered at no cost to the participants.?Based on curated topics selected to improve operations and increase capacity for the mission-focused teams, we delivered strategies, identified resources, shared best practices, and created networking opportunities. The wonderful part about the subject matter experts is that they were all volunteers and members of the Junior League of Collin County.

Along the way, we even had the support of community partners like Communities Foundation of Texas ( Heather Lothes ), Plano Chamber of Commerce ( Veronica Andrulat, PMP ), Credit Union of Texas Plano ( Lin Adi ), and Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union Plano ( Jesse Sanchez ) to name a few. This year's workshops epitomize the theme “Volunteering Weaves Us Together.”

Nonprofit organizations like JLCC rely on the generosity and kindness of our volunteers to carry out their mission. The unwavering commitment of volunteers to reach more people and make a meaningful difference in our community weaves us together. Whether they are mentoring students, providing support to survivors of abuse, donating to the economically challenged, or helping with fundraising efforts to keep the lights on, all of the time and efforts spent are invaluable.

Volunteering is not just about giving back to the community, but it also provides an opportunity for personal growth and fulfillment. By volunteering, you show that you care about the well-being of others and are willing to put in the work to make a difference. Selflessness and willingness to serve others are qualities that we should all strive to emulate.

As we celebrate National Volunteers Month, let us remember that volunteers are the backbone of our nonprofit organization and the community at large. Without their selfless service, the charitable organizations that champion various missions would not be able to achieve our goals and make a difference in the lives of those served.

Thank you for all that you do!
