Its a mother earth Thing

Its a mother earth Thing

Having immersed myself in the realm of sustainable development for the past 25 years, I'm thrilled to share my journey as a Social Entrepreneur, Consultant, and Green Influencer in my role as a jury member for this year's Next Economy Award at the Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis .

Growing up in a Brazilian Favela, I witnessed the repercussions of unsustainable practices, driving my commitment to sustainable development. To embody the dual narrative of my background and sustainable ambitions, I proudly wore pieces of jeans found in the trash in the favelas from my birth city, symbolizing both sides of my story.

Last year marked my nomination as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and my inaugural participation as a jury member for the Next Economy Awards. Reflecting on the transformation journey, I recognize the pivotal role of such awards in shifting from being part of the problem to actively contributing to sustainable solutions.

How it is going...

The Next Economy Award process, culminating in live pitches, question rounds, and jury evaluations, is a testament to the collective expertise shaping the sustainable landscape. The award ceremony, following the German Sustainability Day congress, serves as a melting point for Europe's sustainability dreamers and DOers, fostering diversity and equality—a unique and enriching experience that I'm honored to be part of.

In a room filled with investors and corporations dedicated to sustainability and innovative activities, I feel privileged to share my story and inspire fellow DOers. Celebrating good practices is key to maintaining hope and momentum towards achieving the 2030 sustainable development goals. It's not just about acknowledging the problems but actively awarding those who are making a positive impact.

Since 2015, the Stiftung Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitspreis has recognized startups committed to sustainability through the Next Economy Award, making it one of the most sought-after startup prizes. Collaborations with esteemed partners further elevate the NEA, honoring founders who drive social and ecological change through innovative business models.

A particular highlight this year is the new category of the International DNP: Companies for the Agenda 2030. This category, in collaboration with Wilo, recognizes partnerships between German companies and those in developing or emerging nations contributing to Agenda 2030 through environmental and efficiency technologies. Identifying exemplary partnerships with transformative impact aligns with the goal of fostering sustainable living and business practices

.

Lastly, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the change-makers, special thanks goes to Dr. Otto Schulz and the Amazing jury members and methodology teams who play a crucial role in steering the course toward a more sustainable future. It's not just a journey; it's a movement, and I'm excited to be a part of it.
