It's the Little Things

Hello LinkedIn World…As we’ve grown up as children, adults, and professionals, we’ve all heard the phrase “it’s the little things that count”. I was reminded of this recently from a dear friend of mine.? A couple of nights ago (while browsing Facebook), I learned that my dear friend passed away.? A lot of questions and thoughts raced through my mind, as you can imagine.? This person was full of life and had a kindred spirit that rubbed off on others around him.? Hoping that this was a hoax, I a mutual friend of ours and learned that my dear friend decided to move on from this world.? Of course, I was in complete shock; very hard to believe because his heart contained nothing but happiness and love.

As I drove to the airport today, I remember (a couple of months back) getting a nudge from God telling me to give him a call.? When that thought came, I said “Oh, I’ll give him a call later”…”Later” never came.? I sit here and ask myself, could my phone call have been what he needed to prevent what happened?? Unfortunately, we will never know and my heart aches not only for his loss but his family and the world lost an angel.

I share this story and lesson with you because it is the “little things” that count beyond what we think for the person that receives that surprise phone call from you or us.? We all know how this world has changed in front of our eyes in the past 24 months.? Let’s not lose each other or ourselves any further.? Take the time to do those “little things” because it only takes one of them to impact or save someone’s life.? We’ll never know how much if we don’t do it.

(Someone hurting from the loss of a dear friend).

I can relate to this more than I care to admit. I have lived this. I am this. Listen to the “nudges” as you say. ??
