It's like Glamour... but in a Pod.
A billion dollar beauty problem is being tackled by entrepreneur and beauty consultant, Ola Cislik.
Currently a Law Student at the University of Alberta, Ola has taken on, and excelled, at multiple entrepreneurial devours prior to taking on the dense legal books.
She helped mold the University of Alberta's Entrepreneurial Hub program during its infancy stages and acted as the President of the student led Entrepreneurship Club for back-to-back years. She did this all while growing a startup company and doing full-time studies.
Leadership is in her DNA.
Ola's knack for solving problems motivated her to take on multiple entrepreneurial endeavors during her collegiate years. Winning business competitions and loyal customers along the way was a regular occurrence for her and it was never whether "it can't be done"; it was always "how do we make this work?"
Feeling well groomed with her entrepreneurial experience, Ola has branched off to create GlamPod: an elegant product that will allow beauty lovers to artistically store and travel with their make-up sponges while keeping them tactile and clean (yes, you can take it glamping).
Beauty and cleanliness go hand-in-hand
Despite how effective a makeup sponge could be for blending products like concealer and foundation, Ola found people around her complaining about there not being an efficient method to store them away. The sponge would then collected harmful bacteria which could have rash effects on one's skin.
Switching in-between her studies and with figuring out a solution for this, Ola 3D printed prototypes herself. Trying numerous times to design a suitable version that her customers would Love, Ola finally got to a final product on attempt number fifteen.
Out came a stylish, mini-container suited to help keep her makeup sponge portable and clean.
She is a makeup beauty tycoon to be
With over a year of cosmetic consulting under her belt and a passion for the industry, Ola has stayed up to date with the latest beauty trends. She was surprised that no one had created a solution for this yet. Instead of waiting for someone to do it, she created GlamPod to address this multi-billion dollar industry herself.
When asked why her customers prefer her, she admits that it comes down to the authenticity and personalized customer service that she strives to give each buyer.
"All they want to know is that you actually care about them. I make sure to stay real with them, let them know right away if there are any problems, and stay in constant communication with them."
Yes, she does this while in Law School, and yes, she's traded in her evenings and weekends to grow her company to where it is today.
Her long term objective is to have GlamPod featured in Sephora and displayed alongside the products she had admired for many years.
She also plans to do it all while in Edmonton.
"With social media, it doesn't matter where you live," she urges. "You don't have to live in LA, or Toronto to build a brand and be successful. The internet and social media have completely leveled the playing field."
With an ambitious goal and a can-do attitude, we see this beauty story going very far. After months of preparation and anticipation, GlamPod finally became available to the public and it was done in a way that everyone expected: in style and here to stay.
