If you are anything like me or every other person in the world you would agree that this year is going really fast just like all the previous years. One thing I do believe that time is on our side so if we are able to take back control, gain discipline, and make a few minor sacrifices a great reward can be reaped before 2020 hits! One of the hardest things to battle when it comes to reaching financial goals would be coming to terms with exactly where you are and placing a timeline on where you want to be. The great thing about creating a timeline you are the one in total control of that timeline and it is on your terms and your way. One great piece of advice I would like to give is not to fins yourself in the comparison trap around your current network group or family. Below are a few suggestions to get you back on track and the beginning process I use with my financial coaching clients.
- List your goals
- Write down all credit, student loan, checking, and saving account balances.
- List your values
- Contact any debts owed if passed due and make arrangements to set up payment plan. ( I currently have a script that my clients use that you can find (www.wealthbuildingplanner.com)
- Set a healthy budget based on your current payback plan (include eating out, personal care-try to eliminate anything you can do without subscriptions, cable, limiting nail appointments if you have to)
- Get an accountability partner ( If you don't have one get a coach)
