IT’S L.A. COUNTY AIR SHOW TIME! (Woo-hoo!)

BUT – before we talk about Air Show… what, you say? There is news other than Air Show?? Yes indeed, big news: the new Air Force Flight Test Museum is hosting a groundbreaking ceremony March 23, and we are all invited. This really is a milestone moment for “Aerospace Valley” and we have it covered for you – flip through to page 14 for general information on the groundbreaking event, and then over to page 11 for Bob Alvis’ preview and thoughts on what will be coming to this modern facility. This is going to be a huge asset to our community in the years to come. Now, “back to our regularly scheduled programming” – Los Angeles County Airshow! March 24 and 25 at Fox Airfield in Lancaster – do you have your tickets yet? Plan on joining your neighbors in coming out for this event, and bring the kiddos, it’s gonna be a good one. We have the F-22 Raptor Demonstration Team in the air this year; as well as the MV-22 Osprey; classic aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, the B-17 Flying Fortress and the P-38 Lightning, and a dizzying display of aerobatic and stunt flying by some of the best air crews in the business. On the ground, we have multiple STEM exhibits with hands-on activities for all, a series of Aviation Heroes and Legends History Panels (see pages 6 & 7 for panelist bios) and static displays including the F-35 and the only Lockheed Vega still in operation. All brought to us courtesy of title sponsor Lockheed Martin, as part of their 75th anniversary celebration.
