It's The Human Spirit After All!

It's The Human Spirit After All!

It's the Oscars weekend and Hidden Figures, one of my favorites this year, is right up there for Best Picture Award.

I enjoyed reading @Janet Foutty take-aways from the movie ("See what she becomes"). We took our daughter and two sons to watch it and to experience just that - being empowered, inspired and uplifted through a true story-telling of adapting and prevailing in the face of a Herculean challenge and a transformational change.

For me there was another theme in the movie that was so perfectly illustrated: the ever present intersection between people and technology with all the fears and opportunities it brings along.

It was a reminder of what is frequently being underemphasized in many organizations: it is through coaching and harnessing people’s talent and resilience that new technology, tools and frameworks can be successfully implemented in the business.

It is the Human Spirit after all!

With its incredible ability to adapt it can successfully take on any challenging transformation. Acknowledged, adequately equipped and coached with the right know-how, nothing can stand in its way.

It is especially the case with the appearance of new technology and the type of revolutionary and disruptive change it keeps introducing to the market, our jobs, our lives and interactions. Even within this rapidly changing world and business environment of ours, it is this unique quality of ours that stands up to redefine purpose, value, jobs and markets.

I find it to be a powerful and welcome reminder these days when we are faced with increased automation and the dawn of Artificial Intelligence.

A most recommended movie to watch! (… but you probably knew that already)
