It's hot. Here's 6 quick tips to get you through it.

It’s hot, it’s July, and you’d rather be on vacation. Me too.

Here’s some quick ideas to make it a great week while making yourself look and feel like a Champion (because you are!):

1.??????Celebrate the first half of a great year. Make a list of all the things you’ve accomplished so far. You are amazing! Post about it, shout about it. (Don’t worry about what you missed you still have a ? year to go.)

2.??????Start a list of Minor Miracles. Those are the little things that happen and get overlooked. I’ve had two speaking requests this week (high five). How about you? Did you finish a grant? Did a client have an AHA moment? Did you get a surprise donation? Collect and share these Miracles to make everyone feel good and to remind you of the great work you do!

3.??????Send some cards or notes. Yesterday I went to the card shop so I could congratulate friends and associates on their promotions, engagements, and birthdays. Later today I will write a special note in each one and send it off. What a way to feel good and strengthen connections.

4.??????Promote yourself. I’ve recently updated my LinkedIn profile and, I’ve got to admit, I’m impressed! It’s pretty amazing to review all you’ve accomplished. Bring your profiles up to date, spice up your resume, request recommendations. Remember how great you are and let the world know it. You are a Nonprofit Champion.

5.??????Make one connection today. I try to do this every day. Early this morning, before I went to Pilates, I sent a LinkedIn message to an author I had quoted. Bingo! He wrote right back. What a great way to start the day. Make a short list of people you admire for their work and start connecting. I’m continually surprised how easy it is.

6.??????Support the farmers, eat well, and feel good. It just takes a visit to your local farm market. Stock up on ripe red tomatoes, juicy yellow corn, and everything green! Look at that beautiful drink I got at the St Pete Saturday Morning Market. Go early and have breakfast.

Let’s start connecting right here. Introduce yourself in the comments, you can never have too many great people in your network!

I love the notes / postcards suggestions. With so many emails these days, a physical letter is a welcome delight!
