You're going to want to move there after visiting, so get your affairs in order so you can just stay...forever.
The big cities, Lisbon and Porto, are incredibly hilly! While there is public transport or tuk tuks that can help you get up them, truly the best way to get a feel for the city is to walk those streets. Pack good shoes and have a sense of adventure on those hills!
