It's HER-Story and she's telling it!

The last thirty days have been a tailwind and the NEXT 30 are more of the same! I'm definitely not complaining, I'm sharing what it looks like when life starts to resemble everything you asked for.

Let's take a journey -

Those who have been connected with me for some time and have read my books know that there's several things I never wanted to do

• be a mother
• be an author
• be an entrepreneur
• found a 501c3
• be in the spotlight

I started my parenting journey at 19 with an unplanned pregnancy and no plan. I now have three beautiful children, ranging in age from 8-23 who are extremely proud of and close to me.

I wrote A Mother's Love as a struggling and seemingly isolated mother of a 17-year old girl who appeared to want to be everything but obedient. I didn't know that the teen years came equip with natural challenges; I didn't grow up in an environment where you openly shared areas of opportunities in your home. Absent the feelings of having a safe space to talk through my normal parenting challenges, I decided to write 31-days of affirmations for other mothers so they would never feel the isolation that I felt.

I started CHBM Services while on unpaid Maternity Leave with my youngest son; my maternity leave was actually 100% funded by the bank of sick and vacation time that I stored so I could be off stress free.

During that time, I had settled on the fact that

• my current employment would be ending soon
• I didn't want to work until my son was 1-year old
• I wanted to help people who look like me find their careers

I launched this entity to help job seekers tell their story via their resume and LinkedIn profiles. I wanted this service to be thoughtful and affordable. I stopped writing resumes in January, 2020 and officially started consulting in 2021.

CHBM Services grossed its first six figures in 2022.

In February, 2024, I was awarded the 2023 Luminary Award by Southern Company GAS for my volunteer work as the unpaid Founder - Executive Director of Disruptive INC .

I've never been more uncomfortable and charged in my life.

SMNPCE INC dba Disruptive INC focuses on the Career Development | Employment | Education of single parents ages 18-40 by providing support via related resources; to date, we have hosted over 20 events, touched over 3,000 households (7.5K to be EXACT) and raised over $75,000 in corporate, financial and individual support.

Being successful has been my only goal - for me, success is directly related to my impact an ability to afford the lifestyle that I want to live.

I'm not 100% there but doing all of the things that I haven't/never wanted to do has armed me with the consistent development and exposure opportunities that I need to arrive at my definition of success.

I'm intentional. I'm deliberate. I'm consistent.

No matter what your end game is, you have to be similar - NO, you don't need to be identical, my journey is directly related to what I need for me to be great, there's no duplication. My experiences and successes are my own.

And, yours are your own - but you do have to leverage them:

• Be intentional about your connections (#joinus Thursday, March 21st)
• Be deliberate with your conversation - share the things that are relevant to your direction.
• Be consistent in your presence - your authenticity is what creates opportunities for you; you must be comfortable with yourself in order for you to own your narrative equitably in ALL rooms.
