IT'S HEALTHY, OR IS IT?
Everything written in the article is based on studies and experimental learning
Dear colleagues, friends
As promised earlier, I will have a month talking about FOOD!:) Let's be conscious of our diets in order for us to maintain the vitality of our bodies and emotions today and in the far future. I promise it will be full of interesting facts based on research, but yet summarised.
The first topic of my posts will be to kill all the myths about what is healthy, and what is not. I am definitely not a guru, but there for sure is no right diet in the world.
I personally tried keto, fasting, omnivore, veganism, oman, low glycaemic, raw milk, fermented foods, raw foods, fruits only, all kinds of detoxes, longer fasting periods(7 and 10 days), 6 smalls meals, counted calories, ate organic(biodynamic) to see how I would feel, and I did all of them for a proper amount of time! Each style of dieting gave different results. Some caused problems, and others have saved me. Instance: after a long fast I am not allergic to nuts anymore, don't have problems with swallowing foods and having problems breathing. After veganism, I activated yeast candida from its a dormant state(they love alkaline environments), but probably the issue started with antibiotics(next article). I will speak a lot about my subjective experiences, but some other time.
It is not about the diet, it's about the FOOD itself and the way you prepare it. Every person is an individual.
In the previous company, the whole team decided to take a blood test one day, on 250 different foods, and each one of us had different results. My body rejects dairy, tuna, mayo, but loves the majority of meats, starches and vegetables. For my colleagues that wasn't the case. The interesting thing is that I never had a tendency to drink milk, didn't like the taste of tuna ANNND was hardly interested to touch some stuff I was actually RED. Same happened for others. The person who had a need to try the vegan diet was RED on the whole meat category, a guy who preferred rice and potato had a problem with wheat etc.
Have you EVER wondered why nutritionist say some certain foods will give better health and longevity over others like wholewheat, brown rice, nuts or beans?
- the glycaemic index
- the mighty outer membrane of these foods(Bran) "filled with nutrients"
Both are not true! It works theoretically under a microscope but is not the same in life. Yes! the membrane is filled with nutrients and yes! some foods have a slow release of glucose cause of the bonds and the fibres, but how can we benefit from it?
Let's talk briefly about GI.... In the next video, you can see a study made with 1000 participants given 50 meals. They measured glucose levels after every meal several times. Some people had much better glucose levels with normal bread and icecream than oatmeal, brown rice and overall wholegrain category.
It might have something to do with the blood type or your family tree DNA and the cool mix of nations it passed to develop that way over centuries. Try doing it yourself and see if it makes sense:)
Now.. What's up with the BRAN ???? (outer shell of nuts, fruits, legumes, whole grains)
Remember our grandmas would soak beans and nuts for 24 hours at least! They would cut off skins of fruits, and whole grains? They have to be sprouted in order for you to benefit from them, OR you would destroy your gut and absorb nothing because of the antinutrients one of them being phytic acid etc. That foam that happens when you cook any of the mentioned foods
LECTINS - antinutrients
Lectins are the defences that plants and seeds use to protect themselves. When you think about it, it’s pretty clever that they’ve got this inbuilt defence mechanism to stop them getting eaten. These selections are designed to be harmful to predators trying to eat them, but they’re also harmful to the gut when we digest them. They do not allow all the nutrients to absorb, and can physically destroy your intestines leading to leaky gut, IBS, chron's disease, autoimmune diseases.
There is a reason why something in you says NOOO when you see whole grain bread, but you go for it because it is "healthy". It is hard for our digestive tract. Read many books on it, and watched people speaking about this stuff. Here is a video of a guy called Mike who cured his gut by removing all these foods from his diet. He summarised it well
Nutritionist, scientists and coaches nowadays say "this is the right diet" and one Sheila easily gets hooked. Either Sheila wants to lose a few pounds, get better energy levels, potentially help themselves if having cancer or other diseases, they would happily try every "solution" there is proposed.
