It's GTB/Zenith's World; We just live in it
Zenith Bank and GTB are Nigeria's two biggest banks. The 2016 economic recession, implementation of the TSA (Treasury Single Account), decreased oil prices, non-performing loans and the devaluation of the Naira made the business of banking in Nigeria challenging.
However, led by Zenith and GT Bank; the Nigerian financial services industry was able was able grow and many banks posted healthy 2016 results.
The 2017 Q1 results show that the banks are still growing and thriving.

7 年No Qualms God will help us all as a nation when we get our IDENTITY RIGHT & orien t all about WORK & MEANING....You re blessed -see your hydrocarbon wealth -African sit tight politicians have squandered $37billion across recent decades according to a yahoo report barely 20 months ago etc See what EFCC have unfurled -those are sources of poverty.What of stack of cash in private' CBNs' should that be? Should cash embalmed for that long in that static place be turned around to make more money or bigger deals thab liquid cash?

7 年Nigerian banks come & consult me how u can be ample than your orthodox practices & how you can retain sacked staff & still make profit BUT NOT EXCESSIVE PROFIT-I dont have wisdom for that .Imagine what the UK official said -Nigerians are fantastically corrupt-TRUE?

7 年You re right elsewhere i glance that you wrote othat Not all Nigerian kids need to go to varsities yes .Dr Mrs NDIDI empowered some stark illiterates -mostly women -who annul poverty in themselves .She highlighted this @YARADUAL CNENTER May 2016 during a Rotary Dis 9125 District Conference geared towards Participation & Community Development.What turned me on other that empowerment was when she brought out her mini apple phobe and read a portion of Marie Angelous poems to buttress some points.Most banks -i visited four this fortnight -they are mostly women-WHY? Se awon okunri seyin ni?Why? a book can be written with empirical on Nigerian banking practice ...any when. 7 年what evidences & by what yardstick are they thriving? They re making excessive profits -which shouldn't be ! in their pre-2008 woes -almost cell death!nb. I have big seniors who have have made a good dent in the banking sector i also know there are genuises too in the banking sector -the likes of Tony et al but it diesnt mean they re serving Nigerians amply.What segment of Nigerians are enjoying the banks? mostly the privileged ones and who are shareholders in Nigerian banks / UNTIL THEY TREASURE IDEAS they will appear WELL but lots of pathology hidden or chronic in their common ways of 'thriving' Are you aware of banks staff already sacked since 5 years ? why should be employed prior? How do they meet up their marketing targets ? Did you read an article published in the Guardian of 2005 by a lady banker whose primary career was Pharmacy? How Nigerian Banks are ruining our ladies? Besides banks ought to empower or help to fund project ideas which both partners have assessed viable and they can jointly share the profits as agreed. Till date a lot are so fanatical in granting loan s to salary workers & expectedly deduct with harsh huge interests when salaries are paid! Is that banking? Is it only libido asset s that can fish in small or big accounts ?No.Sacked bank staff is a sequel of professional failure of banking intelligentia or whoever that supervise recruitment ...I can defend or elucidate more how banks can survive in Nigerian landscape where only few Nigerians are pathologically lazy.28/5/17
