It's Not Goodbye...

After 22 years, the time has come for me to face the world outside of the mothership – Oracle, the company that I have loved and grown up with. I joined in Jan 1997 with a 6-month-old baby in tow to work in building 400 with the world class Oracle Database development team. It has been a journey full of triumphs, successes, trials & tribulations, and lots of growth and learning while I put my heart and soul into my work here because Oracle’s success became synonymous with my success, and my pride. Just because I’ll no longer physically be at Oracle anymore doesn't mean I don’t still have all the same feelings. I do. It’s just that I have to take on a new challenge, a new adventure, so that I don’t have any regrets for not pursuing it! You only live once and I need to continue to make it count.

I could write a long essay, maybe even a book on all the things I love about this amazing company from the founder-led vision, strategy, and leadership, to an unbelievably sharp ability to execute on anything we set our mind to do, but the one thing that I will always remember are the people. I’m most grateful to work with and know the world’s most talented group of people that are passionate, committed, and fierce – many of whom I am privileged to call my friends.

My Oracle family, you all have taught me the value of teamwork; the power of what we can accomplish when we all work towards a common goal; and how much sweeter success feels when you share it with people who worked on it together! I am going to carry forward with me the spirit of Oracle – the courage, the fearlessness, the swagger, and the willingness to take actions based on conviction.

I can’t say that I have any regrets. I'm going to miss Oracle and its incredible people…really, really miss everything about it. But as a good friend reminded me – “you can take me out of Oracle, but you can’t take the Oracle out of me.” I will always bleed Oracle red. I will always think the world of you and will always pray and wish for continued success of the company and you, my friends.
