It's go time!
In recent weeks (Ok, let's be honest. It's been months), I have had many well-respected people in the Agile Community tell me that I need to:
Something about what I have shared thus far has been inspiring to them. They want more.
So what do you do when Agile thought leaders tell you that you need to put your thoughts out there too?
You sit there and think about it for a long while. Let it marinate.
But why not just do it, as Nike says? What's the hold up?
Well, it comes down to something I talk about about all the time: Scrumposter Syndrome. That feeling you get when you put yourself into a bigger arena with people ahead of you on the journey. You'll start to notice fear floating around in your head that they might turn around and tell you to take a hike. In other words, your tribe will reject you.
This when I call upon one of my go-to experts on vulnerability, Brené Brown, for guidance. Her message is always clear: If you aim for personal growth, you will bump up against your comfort zone. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. Expect to get kicked around by people, but in the end, you will stand up and become a stronger leader. Justin Welsh says the same thing, albeit differently.
With that in mind, I always do the hard thing anyway. As I said in one of my Agile Coach job interviews last year, "I ain't scurred." (PS they still hired me.)

So what will I be exploring with you here?
With this Linkedin Newsletter, I am committing to a bi-weekly personal retrospective to:
Although I love Scrum and will touch upon it, I am more interested in why something designed to help people is malfunctioning so massively. And what we should do about that moving forward.
As a result, I will tap into subjects such as:
I look forward to sharing with you and hearing your feedback. Thank you for subscribing to this newsletter.

2 年Great start! I think you've got an enlightening story to tell. Yes, you're gonna bump into those ahead of you. If they judge and disparage you, then... perhaps they're not as ahead as they may think... or maybe they can offer some insights themselves. You can't please everyone, and sometimes the problem isn't necessarily with you: lead a horse to water and all that... But: think of those behind you that you'll help guide. At some point in the future, you'll encounter someone that said a small sentence or anecdote you wrote had them thinking deeply about their situation and helped shape their focus. Good move, Patty. Keep at it!
