Going Live?

Hey Fam! So we were going to kick this off choppin it up about Walmart’s new glorified affiliate, I mean,?Creator?Program. But let’s not get into all the things we detest about some of these “brand collabs” that suck the life out of content creation.

If you DO want us to get into that messy of mess though, check out our podcast: “Thoughts from a Content?Creator” where we do just that! Besides, nothing can break our soul the way these Beyonce’ concert ticket prices will anyway.

In the spirit of actually delivering some sort of value to you before you so easily lose interest in this, check out?this article?to learn more on how to really gain the most value out of your virtual events during and after they’re over. But seriously, our attention spans are on Tony Stark (R.I.P.), is no one else concerned about this??

This might be a great opportunity for us to introduce ourselves:

Creator Hub is a newsletter for Creators.

This newsletter was birthed to provide the BIPOC community with access to the competitive insight that carries implications on rate sheets, branding, and exposure in the creator economy at large. In other words, this newsletter was made with love, for The Culture.

This is a snippet of our newsletter, please subscribe here to make sure you're in the loop.

Meta wants to Protect your Content

So it looks like Meta is actually about to tap in and start helping you put the paws on your opps! The tool is called Brands Right Protection and has been updated with more sophistication for IG & FB allowing you to even search by image.

“Businesses will have the ability to report content utilizing their IP without permission, prompting Meta to conduct an investigation and remove the infringing content.” This is a huge deal if it actually works. Now if TikTok can match this energy we might be on to something!

NBC?Creator?Program

So NBC has picked 11 TikTok content?creators?for its new Accelerator?Creator?program. NBC is the first media company to get in on the?creator?program bandwagon, but they definitely won’t be the last! There are so many ways to work this?creator?economy! Know your lane (or niche) like the back of your hand and most importantly, be the most consistent. Who knows, you might be next up!

Youtube Shoppable Links

The economy may no longer be giving “if it’s up then its stuck”, but that’s not going to stop YT from collecting her bag...and maybe you too. “Members of the app’s Partner Program across America, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and India take center stage with such a feature, provided they have at least 20,000 subscribers.

?Such?creators?need to tag their videos and also make live streams that feature links through which online purchasing can be done.” Now 20k subscribers is a bit steep, so hopefully, this opens up over time to even smaller YouTubers as well.
