As we move swiftly into 2025, we are looking forward to Spring...but that doesn't mean we won't take February, the month of Love, to share our musings with our Groupies. ??????

Whether or not you acknowledge or celebrate Valentines Day, the history of how it came about is very interesting:

Valentine’s Day can be traced back to ancient Rome. The most widely accepted theory links it to the festival of Lupercalia, a mid-February celebration marking the arrival of spring. This ancient festival involved rituals to promote fertility and even included a lottery system where men and women were paired together.

However, in the late 5th century, Pope Gelasius I abolished Lupercalia and established February 14 as St. Valentine’s Day. This change ultimately transformed the day into a celebration of love and affection. Quite fascinating!

Super Bowl 2025

It is upon us.

The matchup between the Chiefs and the Eagles. I know in our office we have some serious supporters on each side.

Given our industry, we cannot help but remember Super Bowl 2023 when Rihanna had an ASL interpreter for her halftime show. As the first deaf female performer at the Super Bowl, Justina Miles did the pregame and halftime show.

What's in store this year?

Game. Halftime Show. Commercials sprinkled throughout.

If you are a Kendrick Lamar fan, congrats. He is this year's halftime performer after winning Record and Song of the year at the Grammy's recently. However, will he be able to sing his #1 song? All sources are speculating.

With Drake Lawsuit looming, will Kendrick Lamar play "Not Like Us" at the Super Bowl?

We all know another big draw (aside from the game itself and halftime show) is awaiting the commercials. These big-ticket marketing pieces are set to feature a diverse array that blend humor, nostalgia, and lots of star power. Here's an overview of some anticipated ads:

  • Michelob Ultra: A humorous pickleball-themed ad starring Catherine O'Hara and Willem Dafoe is on the lineup.
  • Stella Artois: Matt Damon and David Beckham team up in a commercial directed by Ben Affleck, highlighting a newfound friendship.
  • Hellmann's: Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal recreate their iconic "When Harry Met Sally" scene with a mayonnaise twist.
