It was a rainy Saturday morning, so I used the time to go grocery shopping. So, with my shopping list in hand, I walked down the frozen dessert aisle. My wife is a huge fan of Rocket Pops. So, fortunately, I saw a few and put two boxes in my cart.
And as I do so, I hear,?"Mommy, that's not fair. Why does that man get Rocket Pops?"?The Mom says, “Bennett, you did not get your homework done at school.?That’s why you aren’t getting Rocket Pops."
I smiled at the child and his mom and quickly made my way to the checkout counter.
Things happen in threes for me, whether at home or work. So?my antenna was up for the "it's not fair" comment.
And so, like clockwork, Jessica is telling me about her one-to-one meeting with one of her recruiters on Tuesday.
From my other sessions with Jessica, I know that one of her recruiters, who has been with her for six months, needs to meet expectations.
Jessica told me that she explained to Jason that he needs to be close to, meet or exceed weekly goals in the next two weeks to avoid changes. Sure enough,?Jason told Jessica, "It's not fair."??

Coaching your team is one of the most critical parts of being a business owner. I experienced this when I grew our sales team from thirty to one hundred and thirty in a wholesale distributorship.
So, the question of "fair" is an intriguing concept to me.?Did we teach, mentor, or provide the tools? Did we have accountability along the way? Did stuff happen that could have delayed progress out of anyone's control?
If you have questions like this, join me on Thursday at 5:00pm Eastern. The Workshop is a Q&A and a discussion on coaching, mentoring, and holding employees accountable.?You will have a chance to ask your peers and me questions and come away with actionable strategies to help you and your team.?
No recording and limited participants. Please register here to join me.?Please bring your scenarios and questions to get the most value from our time together.
Thanks for reading,
Until next week,
