It’s Not About the Exit

It’s Not About the Exit

A sound business strategy is timeless.

Positioning your company for your exit is a foundational strategy that will help you generate more revenue, streamline operations, and build real business value.

In my view, every business owner can achieve an Elegant Exit? by positioning their company.

But in the decades I’ve worked with women business owners, I’ve observed that very few women are thinking or talking about the future.

We seem content to focus on the past (what worked and what didn’t work) and the present (the million big and little things we must address TODAY). We often believe if we work hard enough today, the future will take care of itself.

Many of us weren’t raised to be breadwinners, nor have we thought about how much value is locked inside our business.

We’re so busy juggling family, home, and business, there doesn’t seem to be enough bandwidth to worry about unlocking that value and reaping the rewards of our work in the world. But value can transform into dollars with the right guidance.

Today’s Question:

What is keeping you from thinking about and planning for the future of your business?

Are you too busy? Too content with the status quo? Too afraid there isn’t objective value? Worried no one will want to buy your business? Can’t imagine your life without your business?

But Here’s the Twist .?.?.

The future of your business is not about the exit; it’s about your purpose, impact, and legacy.

Yes, you love your business, your people, and your clients. That sense of purpose you’ve found in your work is real. The impact you have on those around you is meaningful. But someday, you may want to do something different, perhaps more creative and fun.

Now What?

Becoming exit ready is not a one-time event when you’ve reached a certain revenue milestone or financial target. Exit readiness is a strategic and ongoing process that involves setting the stage for a smooth transition, maximizing business value, and ensuring your legacy endures.

In this moment, you have the luxury of time and the ability to future-proof your business. If you intentionally build real business value, you can position your business for your exit one day. Not today - not tomorrow – but on your timeline, at your pace, under your control.

This is my life’s work: helping you fine-tune your operations and scale your revenue for strategic growth, creating real business value and emerging exit ready. That value can transform into wealth when you are ready to exit your company - and I believe that wealth in the hands of women elevates society as a whole.

P.S. Are you giving 'invisible' discounts to prospects who didn't ask for them? The anxiety you feel when talking with a potential client leaks out when you slash your price because you're afraid you'll lose the opportunity if you don't. ?
I’ve broken down exactly why this 'discount dilemma' happens in an exclusive training called? The Value Equation,?which you can get for FREE by signing up for the bonuses that are companion pieces for my book,?Your Hidden Advantage.
