It’s Not the Equipment It’s What You See

I sometimes miss using an old-fashioned camera. The equipment may not have been as instant as the iPhone, but the feeling of holding it was part of the fun. However, as the saying goes, "the best camera is the one you have with you." This perfectly explains the iPhone's popularity as a tool for photographic art.

As an amateur photographer, I’ve learned that it’s less about the equipment and more about the ability "to see." In fact, when one photographer admires the work of another, they often give the compliment, "well seen." The amazing thing is that each photographer's way of seeing is unique. I’ve been in groups where we all look at the exact same object, sunset, or people, and yet the photos are remarkably different.

This principle applies to business and branding as well. Just like photographers, businesses need to cultivate a unique perspective and vision. It's not just about having the best tools or the latest technology; it's about seeing opportunities, telling unique stories, and connecting with your audience in a way that resonates. Your brand’s unique "vision" can set you apart from the competition and create a lasting impression.

Great analogy Karen ! ; ) "You have an eye" the main mentor in my life said to me !! And I succeeded and excelled in Art Galleries and Photography. Have a book out Karen: "Grievous Angels, Trout Masks, and American Beauties: 1970s Rock & Roll Photography of Ginny Winn"

I agree with your sentiment. I remember my dad had an old Kodak camera which he loved and would take many beautiful photos with it. My father is gone now and so is his old camera. I wish I had that old camera to remember him by and take old fashioned photographs.
