It's The Epidemic We Didn't Think Would Happen To Us

They had it all—except the one thing money couldn’t buy.

If you're reading this, chances are you’re part of an elite group of high achievers who’ve worked tirelessly to reach the top of your field. Your success is admirable, and you should be proud. But for many of us in this group, there's a hidden cost that comes with our accomplishments—and it’s affecting our sleep.

Despite outward success, many high-earning business owners and professionals suffer from burnout, and it's taking a toll on our ability to rest. According to a study on “Entrepreneurial Exhaustion,” burnout is a significant predictor of poor emotional and physical well-being among entrepreneurs. It highlights how managing the constant demands of our businesses and careers can lead to emotional exhaustion and insomnia, which in turn affects our decision-making and work performance.

It’s one of the primary indicators of being 7-Figure Poor.

Take Sarah Chen, one of us. At 32, she was the CEO of a thriving tech startup in Silicon Valley, with a net worth of over $10 million. From the outside, she seemed to have it all. But like many of us, Sarah found herself lying awake night after night, her mind racing with thoughts of investor meetings, product launches, and employee issues. Despite her financial success, she couldn’t buy a good night’s sleep. The constant pressure to maintain her company’s growth was a challenge we can all relate to.

This isn’t just about being tired—it’s a shared struggle we face as high achievers. When we can’t "switch off," our cognitive abilities suffer, and over time, the drive that made us successful becomes the very thing that pulls us toward exhaustion. We often hold ourselves to impossibly high standards, fueling the burnout that threatens our well-being and the fulfillment we’ve worked so hard for.

The good news? This cycle can be broken. Recovery isn’t just possible—it’s essential. There’s a psychology to getting well, restoring sleep, and breaking free from burnout. Working with a coach who specializes in helping high achievers regulate their nervous systems and rebuild from burnout can make all the difference.

A great first step in breaking this cycle is our Profit Psychology Ebook, which offers strategies to help us realign our mindset, reduce stress, and improve our overall well-being. By changing how we think about success, we can not only continue thriving but also reclaim our peace of mind. Imagine waking up refreshed, with clarity and energy, knowing you’re operating at your best—both in life and business.

Renèe Hughes This is a real conversation that needs to be addressed more. Burnout opens the door for disease. We need to rest. Thanks for sharing.

I once heard that future success is based on one's ability to regulate their nervous system (it WILL swing, can you return it to range in a reasonable time). The off switch is also imperative to wellbeing Renèe.

Wow Renèe Hughes! I know (unfortunately all too well!) how burnout can affect our health and our sleep. But I never made the connection that it could also create a self-inflicted cap on our earnings as well! Your Profit Psychology Ebook sounds great. Could you share one quick tip from it here? ??
