It's not enough to be right. Especially if you're on the wrong side of bias.

Some groups have a harder time convincing observers that they're right than others do, because they're on the wrong side of bias.
If you're on the wrong side of bias, it's tempting to try to tiptoe around the elephant in the room and pretend it isn't that bad. Or to simply stop trying to convince anyone that you're right - and let them make expensive mistakes by ignoring your advice and figuring it out for themselves.
If you speak with a foreign accent and mix up your grammar, you get used to people treating you like you're less intelligent than you are. If you're an expert in quality and reject a batch with defects, it's hard to convince cost-conscious executives that you care as much about profits as they do. If you're dark-skinned, some people jump to the wrong conclusions about your time-consciousness when you're stuck in traffic. And if you're Israeli, these days, detractors don't want to hear that you treasure living in a diverse society, that you want to live in peace and invent solutions that make the world better, and that your sons, daughters, cousins and friends are doing their best to protect innocent lives while they neutralize a very real threat.
